For real blue collar place to eat, this one hits the mark. My wife and I stopped in here for breakfast and we enjoyed a delicious meal eggs sunny side up hash browns she got the bacon crispy as ordered and I got the scrapple crispy is ordered and the piece was huge. Service was good. This building has some outside seating and some covered outside seating but no true indoor seating. It's not at all fancy - so if you want fancy you don't want this. If you want a good value for your money at least breakfast wise this one's a good choice. We did not get a chance to check out their chicken or anything else other than breakfast so I can't speak for that part of the menu. That's the part I can speak for it was very good. Definitely two thumbs up.

I read about this place in the past and since I was in the area yesterday decided to give it a try. Upon entering, i was greeted warmly by either I presumed to be the owner/manager who took my order and had me wait in the outdoor dinning area. Once my food was ready, which was a 4 piece dark meal, i was ready to dig in. The chicken was, as a Southerner and my preference, crunchy outside, juicy inside. Originally my co-worker and I were going to take our food back to our office in Baltimore, but opted to eat at the table under the tent. Despite it being a cool and rainy day, the meal was hot and fit the bill. I have read previous reviews from others about how the food was better under previous ownership. While I am not a local nor have eaten at the "legacy" establishment a few have given high regard to, I will say the quality of the chicken and service eclipses that of the chain or "mass produced" fried chicken places that dot the landscape and I will definitely return and suggest that if you are in the area, give Red Rooster a try as well.

If you live in Damascus, you already know. But if you’re just passing through and craving fried chicken, Red Rooster is absolutely worth the stop. I haven’t tried their sandwiches or sides—because every time I go, I stick with what they do best: the fried chicken. It’s fresh, never soggy, with crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat that actually tastes like real chicken. The pieces do run a little small, but the 8-piece family meal was the same price as Popeyes—and so, so much better. No comparison on quality. Mainly a carryout joint, but there are a few picnic tables out front under cover if you can’t wait to dig in. Red Rooster doesn’t try to be fancy—it just gets fried chicken right.

It’s so interesting to me the low stars I have been coming to this place for over 8 years. Everyone is nice and kind and I will say that some of the people who have left poor reviews I’ve seen here regularly as I typically eat here at least 5 times a week. So they need to get their life together and stop coming if they don’t like the food.

After reading the reviews I decided to give this place a try to give my own review and honestly this place has phenomenal food. Most of the reviews you read say the chicken has poor quality, or the size of the restaurant is to small or there’s no customer service but in my opinion half of those people with “cold food” or “poor quality” probably waited to long to pick up their food because my families food was super hot and delicious. The place is small but so what?? Order online like everyone else so you don’t get “ Claustrophobic”. Overall food was delicious. Mac and cheese was great, Philly cheesesteak was great, chicken was great, and so was the bacon cheese burger. 10/10 would recommend
